% Magellan Seminar Today on NASA TV.
NASA will hold a press conference Thursday,
April 22, at 1:00 p.m. EDT to highlight new
findings from NASA's Compton Gamma Ray
Observatory. The discoveries, including the
highest energy gamma rays ever recorded
from a burst, will challenge the present
theories about bursts and question their
origins.
This space astronomy update will be carried
live on NASA TV.

The crew for Columbia's STS-55 mission
arrived at the Kennedy Space Center this
morning. Technicians continue to work
towards a Saturday launch for Space Shuttle
Columbia. The launch window opens at 10:52
a.m. EDT.

Post flight engine inspections were conducted
on the Space Shuttle Discovery. Workers are
scheduled to open the payload bay doors
tomorrow. The SUVE payload is scheduled to
be removed Friday with the ATLAS and
Spartan payloads being removed Monday.

At 3:00 p.m. EDT today, the Magellan Science
Seminar, taped on April 14 at NASA's Jet
Propulsion Laboratory, will be replayed on
NASA TV. The seminar will summarize the
results from the Magellan spacecraft.
